| Several hundred years ago when Vikings would play poker, the hand was called a full boat since they lived most of the time on their ships; full house wouldn't mean much to someone without a house. As the game progressed, "full house" became more common since full boat only made sense to Vikings and other boat-dwellers. Actually I just made all that up, I really have no idea. Eli on 7. | My understanding is that a full house was originally called a full hand. I guess over time this became full house or even full boat. Maybe mariners liked full boat better than full house. Maybe even casinos that floated up and down the Mississippi prefered full boat over full house? It has also been called a full and a tight. Why tight? I have no idea. | ||

As fate would have it I was sipping coffee and the player to announce that they were tight was a gorgeous woman. The combination of her outburst and a mouth full of coffee had disastrous consequences. | ||
