| Hi, The dealers get a paycheck just like the waitresses and waiters do, but their base pay is really not that great. The dealers rely on tips to survive. You don't *have* to tip them, or anyone in the casino, if you don't want to.....but when the dealer is sitting there running the game really smooth and is getting out alot of hands and things like that.....a nice gesture ($) wouldn't hurt either. Tipping is up to the individual and what they feel comfortable with though. If you want to tip.....then tip, and if you don't want to tip.........then don't. Personally.....any dealer that has good control over the game and is making a consciensous effort to do things efficiently.........gets tipped. The quicker they deal (with almost no mistakes), will in turn, benefit me as well. 4P- | ||

| I thought this can of worms got closed. MrTeLLnj- there's a long thread on tipping in the Money and Bankroll forum. In a nutshell, dealers tend to make minimum wage and rely on tips to make a living, just like a waiter. Eli on 5. | Yes MrTeLLnj, Now that I think about.....KJo is right. There was a VERY long thread about tipping dealers. It has been discussed to death already. But you may have overlooked it perhaps so don't feel shy about asking a question that may have been addressed already. It happens. 4 POKER | ||

Living and playing in California and LV i just took tipping for granted At times i was unhappy but submitted to the "social pressure" and tipped when i really didn't want to. But now and then, i would get really upset by lousy service and "stiff" the server. That expression typifies the social pressures brought to bear. I was surprised by both the lenghth of this thread and the tenor of it. Sounds like tipping backlash to me. | ||
