A plea: No Hand Records, Barry T, 4. Oct 2003 21:33 | ||

| Hi. This is a personal request from me. Please stop posting cut-and-paste Internet hand records. Here are two reasons: 1 - They are hard to follow (for me at least). A bunch of names, colons and actions. It takes work to figure out. If you are posting for help, you should not be making your prospective helpers work. Narrivite hands (After two limpers, button raises and I hold 8s6s in the SB...) are easy to understand. (More work for you, less for us. Seems fair, doesn't it?) 2 - We do not get the benefit of your thinking, which should be what you are seeking help with most of the time. A cut-and-paste record does not tell us why you did what you did. And that is usually the point. In a narrative, you get to tell us that (..I expected a volume pot, with everyone checking to the button, so called...) Thank you for your kind attention. BarryT | ||

| Whatever you want...I'll do and I'm sure everyone else will also. In addition to the clarity of a narrative, it's most useful to hear your thoughts/criticism on our reasoning for taking a particular action. As an aside, I want to convey my personal thanks for your willingness to look at hands on this forum (and all the pros, for that matter). Without doubt, your analysis has improved my game. So...thanks! --matt | ||

| I agree with Barry and have made a similar request in the past. I never respond to the internet hand records because there is not enough information for most hands. Mark | ||

| Hi All Good thinking on Barry's part! We should put our thoughts into the post so all can learn from it! Roy Cooke on 4. Oct 2003 21:33 Barry T wrote: > Hi. This is a personal request from me.
