Figuring out the buy in for a satellite, beigs, 3. Oct 2003 08:48

I'm thinking about entering a satellite for the $1000+$100 Limit tourney at Foxwoods. I called the poker room and the guy couldn't tell me what the satellite buy in was. Can someone better at math help me out? They have both single and double table satellites. Which is better to get into? (The poker room manager was not very well informed.) I just want to get a sense of how much I have to lay out for the experience.

I think this is right:
for a single table were winner gets $1000+$100 buyin. Each player has to put up $110, then you have to add a 10% rake or $11. So you have $110 + $11.

For a two table, I am not sure what they do. Guess it depends on how many entrys are given out. My single table is based on how I have seen party setup their buyin tourneys. Haven't seen 2 table tourneys.

That makes sense. The other wrench in the system is that there is also a cash prize in the satellites but I didn't include that because I was looking for an estimate. Thanks for the help. If I get the time I might take one shot at it.

I called them and they said there were satellites for the lower buy in events. They run from daily starting Oct. 20th from 2PM to Midnight. They're run like SnG's. When a table fills up they play. That's what the guy on the phone told me. I'm going to call and double check before I head out there.

Beigs:

I am pretty sure its $110 for the Act II and $35 for the ActI. The Act I gives 2 seats for an Act II.

I might be wrong, but I am going from memory. I am going down at the end of the month (there will be a Saturday Act III finally!) to play a few. Let me know if you are going.

I'm going to try to get out there soon. Unfortunately, I just got a 100 dollar parking ticket that I might have to use my buy in to pay off! If I can't get out there next weekend, I'll have to wait until just before the tourney. I'm out of town from the 18th through the 26th.
