| Late in the tourney, Very tight table, Im near the lead, would you have played it like I did? IM in BB with Q5s (blinds 600/1200) EP calls, MP calls, all fold to me, I check Flop comes 5 2 6 rainbow. Im almost positive that flop didnt help either of them. I bet out 1200. EP folds MP goes all in for the rest of his small stack. He had about 4500 left. I had about 40000 chips. I knew I had him beat at this point, I figured him for overcards. I call he had KJo. He catches a J and wins the pot. Would anyone of you have called? | ||

| I would have bet out more. There's 4200 in the pot if I'm counting right. When he moved over the top of you, he read your minimum bet as weak and wanted you to fold, but happened to get lucky and catch. If you bet larger, say 3000, he should know that if he comes over the top of you, you are going to play and he would seriously be gambling. It's also possible that he held a pair like 7's or 8's and the flop was really nice for him. In a situation like that, I like to say that I'm either playing all the way, or I'm not. Lee | ||

| Yeah, I agree. But I didnt feel comfortable with my low pair. That bet was more of an information bet. If he had just called my bet, I would be a little more scared and checked on the turn to him. But since he went all in, I read him for not getting anypart of that flop. My read proved correct. But he caught a card. I would have been more pissed if I bet out 3000 and then he calls. I think thats a bad play. Just my opinion. | ||

| I'd say that your read was good with the other guy being short stacked to heavy blinds (he pretty much had to push back at you or risk blinding out in near future), and I'm guessing you saw something in past patterns that would help with this assessment. Calling his all-in was correct. You likely had the edge and he had to draw to beat you. That's all you can ask for. You could have bet out more, but he may still have went over since he'd seen you playing loose up to that point. you didn't need his stinkin $4500 anyway right? -GR | ||
