| I had a hand today were I had AA flop came A86 spades. I had bet before the flop and on the flop got raised by one player who I put on a made flush. I called and the turn came the 8 giving me the full house. I bet the guy with the flush raised we capped the betting on the turn and river dead money coming my way. I have heard the odds are apx 3.5 to 1 that if you make a set on the flop that you will fill by the river. So if I have a set and think I am beaten by a flush or staight if the pot is giving me at least 4 to 1 I am assuming I should check and call to the river to see if I fill. Thanks for the help. | ||

| You are a 2:1 underdog to improve your hand to either quads or full by the river when you flop a set. Despite the board being single suited you have a strong hand with top set. Your opponent does not necessarily have the best hand. Many players will raise with the king or queen of suit, particularly if they also have a pair. You could additionally be facing a raise from an underset, or even aces up here. Sometimes a player with the case ace may raise to try and see if you have the made flush. I wouldn't automatically check the turn simply because you got raised on the flop, too often you will be giving a free card in this spot. | ||

| Some where I read that a set of anything , has 80% win rate. Wish I could find that story, again. Rick B | ||
