| $10 set and go at Party, 200/400 level in SB, and only 4 of us left. I am top stack with 2870 chips. All I have to do is wait for one to be busted out to be in the money, but I look down and see QQ. UTG limps, button folds, I raise, BB and UTG call. Flop comes 548 w/2 spades. I bet, BB raises, UTG folds, and I call. BB is a loose player but not particularly aggressive. Turn is 5h. I bet, BB raises, and I call. River brings a 9s. I check and BB bets 360 all in. I call. He turns over 88 for the full house. My stack is now crippled, and I bust out two hands later. Being chip leader, I probably should have folded the QQ after being raised by BB on flop. Guess I fell in love with the QQ. How should I have played this dang thing? Thanks. Don Quixote | ||

| was this NL? either way didnt play this like a tourny. bet the flop is ok obviously, but after being raised by a non aggressive player that u say is loose (meaning he could have anything in this spot) is very scary. then you bet out again??!! what? a player that isnt normally aggressive and u bet out again? weird man. so he raises and u still dont believe him. who cares u what your two cards are my friend, what are his 2 cards? yes he sucked out with 88, but you needed to be aware of your place in the money more than anything. so 2 big problems here. 27. | You are absolutely right. I should have folded it at the beginning the way I play postflop. You guys gave me good advice. I will have to give these things more thought in the future. Most of the time I am very careful about letting others knock each other out when there are only 4 or 5 left. I guess the QQ just looked too good to me :-( Thanks a lot. Don Quixote on 27. | Was this a no limit tournament? How much did you raise? If you're going to play the QQ, you should have raised it a fair amount to make anyone left really play. Odds are pretty good you have the best hand and as the chip leader on the bubble, you should make anyone left pay a premium to see it. Let us know the details! Lee | ||
