| Hello All- Just got back from Vegas. Played at the Mirage in their "Poker Zone" No Limit Holdem Tourney. $60 buy in. I lasted until Level 6 (about the last 3 tables out of 12) when I was dealt pocket 9's. Blinds were 150-300. I was in late position and called a 1500 all-in bet which equalled about 75% of my chips. My opponent had pocket Kings and I lost. Bad move? I'd like your opinions. Ekash | ||

| Yes, bad move in my opinion. Either this opponent has a big pair or two overcards. You're a huge underdog to the former, and a slight favorite against the latter. There's also no room to outplay him after the flop if he does have just overcards, it's hot and cold all in. If you had a huge stack, you could think about playing, but it is a large portion of your stack and losing will leave you severly crippled. Your opponent is going all in with 5 blinds left. He can afford to wait at least a little while longer before he starts going on with really desperate hands like any ace, any two broadway, etc. You still have ~8 blinds left. I'd wait for a better spot. Lee | ||

If you were going to go all-in then you should have done it first(I figure you acted behind this person, so you did not have the chance). You have to figure that person to have a higher pair than you or 2 overcards. I would have tossed them. From your thread you did not seem in danger of being blinded out. | ||

| Wait until you're desperate yourself before taking chances like this. Your opponent wasn't in a super desperate position either, so I would guess he had something decent rather than just two big cards. It's not worth the chance here, let someone else try to take him out. Eli on 25. Sep 2003 18:20 ekash wrote: > Hello All- > > Just got back from Vegas.
