| Hi all this is from a $5-10 online game. the table is 10 handed and typical for this level. I've only been at the table for a few minutes but do recognize a few of the players. There are a few tight players but mostly the players are a little too loose. One player is extremely loose passive (won't bet top pair on Turn), and another player keeps trying to isolate the very LP player with horrible cards. I limp in MP behind 3 others with AJo. I don't know if I figure to have a better hand than the 3 early limpers, i don't raise becasue I figure the hand will have many opponents (at least the 4 players already in the hand will call) and i will be an underdog to 4 pr 5 opponents. I know this is passive, but a raise will only limit the field to 4 or 5 opponents. 7 of us see the flop. 6s As 5h All check to me, I bet. One late caller and 2 EP callers. Turn is Ks (6s As 5h) the 2nd EP bets. I don't know this player but figure between him and the LP caller, some one probably has a flush (or at least a strong redraw). So I fold, as does the LP caller. However the other EP player calls. The river is a blank. the turn bettor leads again and gets called. Does my fold seem reasonable or is it too passive? I didn't have any reads on my opponents, and the last few times i played this table it was tight. Showdown. The turn/river bettor had nothing! The caller had A9offsuit for a pair of aces. Had i stuck around i would have won a decent pot. I later found out these two did this every hand. I was able to adjust and leave the game a winner. Considering how the game "usually" played, was my passive play reasonable both pre-flop and post-flop? Thanks all Mark | ||

| Hi. First, you made a sound judgement based in the information you had. In general, many players either bluff at a 3-flush with a high suited card, or wait to check-raise if they make the flush. Of course, others bet right out. Since you did not know which one, you guessed (wrongly in this case). Typically, I do not believe early position players who suddenly come to life when a flush card hits, but I may play with trickier players. Second, if "these two do this all the time" you sould notify the supervisor at the on-line site. There may or may not be collusion (a lot depends on how they play when they are not at the same table), but they ought to get a chance to look into it. BarryT | ||

| Thanks Barry Many players i play agaisnt (at my levels) don't bet flush draws from early position. Many will go for the free card play in late position, but tend to check and call in early pos. As for collusion, i seriously doubt these two are capable. they were betting into/calling down better players with all sorts of crap and losing. But i will keep my out for them in the future. | A lot of times, really bad play will look like collusion even though it's not. | ||
