I play at a local casino where the rake is $4 for a $20 pot. I find it extremely difficult to win under this structure and I don't see others winning either. Is there a strategy necessary to win or should I just go someplace else? Thanks.

They're robbing you BLIND!!!!

I would go somewhere else or play on-line; the rake is much lower than that.

a common rake 10% for a LL stud type game. 5% for HE some locals are higher.
Tighten up your starting requirements .
Don't chase small edges.
Remember bets you save are worth more than bets you earn. 20% more.
Be selective in the game you choose.
Wagers made after rake maxes out are more profitable than those previously made., given similar circustances.
Play in a no rake home game instead.
Shop around.

To give you an idea of how absurd that is, at both the locations I play at $3-$6 it is a $1 rake per $10 with a max rake of $3.

I would go some place else, but if your going to play the hand raise it early that way the pot is filled
with other players money also. Basically your either raising or folding. Don't just call if the casino is
raking you to death. 4 dollars is a really big rake hard to make money likie that. Yuo must play
perfect and have really bad players. I wouldn't play there I were you.

It is impossible to beat this game by playing honest poker. Play somewhere else.

Wow that's insane. The only casino I've played in just took the small blinds ($1) on a 3/6 table... no matter how big the pot got

I'm not sure about larger tables but I would imagine they just took the small blinds there too
