| Blinds 1500/3000 150,000 Chip Leader 15,000 75,000 8,000 21,000 39,000 20,000 20,000 8,000 Tournament with 9 players left I was watching. Chipleader just became chip leader with monster hand against large stack. I wondered what would happen if the chip leader went ALL IN on every hand. How many players would want to risk playing anything other than AA. The other option would be to ALL IN with any Ax, Kx, pair, or suited connector. I think this option would be very profitable. | it depends on the differences in the payoffs, at 8k and those blinds you'll end up dying soon if you dont make a move. plus huge chip lead or not he cant always have the best hand | ||

| Wouldn't it come down to who wants to make the first move? You make a move and don't win, you just gave your fellow players more money for doing nothing. 9th was $152, 8th was $228. $76 for making a move. At 5th place it is $456, 4th is 570, so $114. As chip leader, you can eliminate the skill of some players with the all in move. I know I wouldn't be confident going all in with some kind of pair, the higher the better. Who wants to give away $76 on a gamble? There were 2 players with about $25,000. I would guess that the chip leader could go all in every other time they were in the BB. They have enough chips to know they aren't in serious danger of blinding out and probably don't want to gamble with a coin flip. If you went all in everytime, I think you would risk someone getting mad and willing to take a gamble, which may or may not be a bad thing. on 21. | If he went all in every time he will get swatted back unless the table is completely weak, final table players have to do that to survive. He can afford to be wrong, but ain't going to like having his stack chipped away at; remember he's playing against a field so there will often be someone willing to go against him especially if they know he's just being a bully. It would be a pretty bad play with that massive of a chip lead- it can go away quickly. Eli on 21. Sep 2003 16:23 Dr_Monkey wrote: > Wouldn't it come down to who wants to make the first move?
