| I sat down at 3/6 table yesterday that I beleive was the dream table. I proceeded to play for 5 hours and drag 4 pots. The best hand I got was AK and I got it once in 5 hours. The table was loose, passive and generally gutless when it came to betting anything. Normally a table like this you worry about getting drawn out on consistenly but this table wasn't that. People weren't playing suited cards, but they were playing A-Lttle K-Little. I was down 120 from this table and felt I played perfect. How do you handle this. I played 5/10 later and lost another 40 due to going on tilt and playing too many starting hands. Any suggestions. | ||

| You chalk it up to being on the bad side of probability. There will be plenty of days in your poker career where you sit in great games and don't get a darn thing to play. There will be other days when you get Aces and Kings 5 times each in three hours. You just never know. You need to control what you can control ONLY and that is play EVERY hand you receive to the best of your ability. If that means folding 43 of the 45 hands you get in a given hour, then that is the optimal strategy for that hour whereby you have maximized your expectation for that period. Over time, every player gets an even amount of good and bad hands. The players who are pro's and make money year after year are the one's that focus only on the hand that they are playing RIGHT NOW and don't lament that they haven't had a hand in 4 hours. With respect to the cards you get, short term memory loss is your most valuable talent. Hang in there and good luck. Steve | ||

| Everyone will go through times of bad luck. The important thing is to always minimize your losses when your cards are bad. That means not trying to force the money to come to you. It also means after a losing session it's usually a bad idea to jump limits hoping for a quick score to even out your earlier loss. Even a short session on tilt can ruin a day or a week of profit. Good luck next time! | ||

| Just chalk it up, you can't do anything more than play each hand the best you can - even if that means folding for eight hours. Nobody is entitled to enough playable hands per hour. It may seem like the best games equal no cards, but that's better than having the flush draws get there. Try to avoid sitting in a higher game simply because you are stuck, it's almost always a better idea to leave. You're not due to find some premium hands there just because you got nothing at the lower table. | ||

| Play some extra drawing type hands from late position such as 56s 67s 79s 810s Axs Kxs, try to buy the button occasionally before the flop, work the free card play from late position on the flop when you flop a decent draw. Remember they're going to be passive and give you free cards when they're ahead, and if they're not savvy you can really swing the odds in your favor. | ||
