| Out of these books, which one would you get first and why. Feel free to make suggestions about them. They are also listed in order that I want them but only have 20-30 dollars on me right now. | Well, as is the case with most poker questions, my answer is "it depends." Are you looking for strategy? If so, I think Inside the Poker Mind is an excellent book in helping to analyze situations. I also highly recommend The Psychology of Poker, in terms of the many valuable insights it has into the mental aspects of poker (although its not a nuts and bolts strategy book). The Body Language of Poker is a very valuable tool for brick and mortar poker games, in that it teaches you specifically some things to look for in opponents, as well as illuminating you to tells you may be giving off. Positively Fifth Street is a great read, but not a strategy book (although Jim McManus does give some insight into his thinking about various poker situations.) This is a fast-paced novel which tells not only of the author's final table finish at the WSOP, but also about the Ted Binion murder trial, and some bits of Vegas and poker lore. An entertaining, insightful, educational book. Hope this helps a bit - Mark | ||
