| I notice that folks often have a great recall for the details of hands. Though I rarely see people sitting at my 6-12 table with a notebook or post-it notes. :) I consider myself to have decent recall skills, but is this a weakness I should look into? I understand it's important to remember who bet what and who raised when and how players at your table acted previously...but how do you keep track of individual hands so well? | ||

| most of the hands you see discussed *my assumption* are either recently played or else have some element that makes them memorable. there are a few *but they do exist* players who have an amazing recall ability but in general why do you want to waste brain space remembering some hand from 20 sessions ago that the chances of you having the exact same circumstances pop up are very slim? you can either use downtime at the table or after your done playing too analyze hands where you think you made mistakes, figure out what mistakes you made and how can you recognize them the next time *also if you feel you made a good play at some point to save or earn an extra bet remember that as well as positive reinforcement is good* think of each hand of poker as a seperate lesson from other hands, it might be a single question lesson *folding before entering the pot* or it might be a multiple question hand, the objective is to get every question right (check, fold, call, raise) and the best part is you get paid every time you answer them all right (remember the money saved spends as well as money earned motto) | ||

| Another point is that a lot of the discussed hands come from online play where most sites can and will send you hand histories. | ||

| The longer you play, the more easy it becomes to remember key hands. Most hands are routine, but when you make a great play, or a HUGE mistake, you will start to remember those and be able to draw on your experience in future situations. | ||
