| I have been playing the 49 ford tourneys just about every day since they started and after reading the stuff here at UPF and doing a little study I have went from 248 to 180 to 86 to 14 to 12 but havent been able to get by the bubble. When it gets down to the last twenty everyone gets tight and I have been trying to steal all I can when the BB gets to me if nobody has raised I have been putting in a big raise and most of the time fold everybody off if somebody calls and I have rags I fold. With the blinds at 4000-8000 I don't seem to have the chips to get by the bubble and just sit it out until the 11th person goes. I don't enter a pot unless I would call a raise with the hand unless I am stealing. I try not to call or check fold or raise instead. stopped playing drawing hands made a big difference. thanks for the help. don | ||

| Don- I think you may need to loosen your requirements somewhat during the bubble stage. This is a great time to become very aggressive as many players (as you point out) tighten up too much when you get close to the money. I recommend reading Sklansky's tournament book as well as Cloutier and McEvoy's Championship NL/PL Hold'em book. Both have great information on expanind your Gap at these times to help you accumulate chips for the final table. Good luck. Steve on 17.
