What does this say about my playing style?, Boftx, 16. Sep 2003 00:37 | ||

| The following applies to online games. I seem to do better at the 6-handed 2/4 games as opposed to the 10-handed games, and better at 10-handed 3/6 and 1/2 games as opposed to 6-handed at those levels. What does that say about my play? On a side note, I have only played 8-handed live 2/4 games but have always walked away with more than I sat down with. (Meaning I kept my wife supplied with slot money :-) ). | ||

| Not really sure it says anything about it. To get a really solid sample on which you can determine that the insight it provides is statistically significant, you would need roughly 1000 hours of play at each level, or 45,000 hands. This should get you to a 95% confidence level. For now (unless you actually have the data), I would consider what you have experienced an anomaly. | ||

| I agree with Shorn.....Statistical fluctuations can deceive a player that is focusing too much on results.....You need a lot of hours to make a accurate determination. | Boftx it isn't clear to me what your results are indicating since short and full play are two completely different beasts. I would need more information about your game to make a comment on what your "style" is. One thing is certain though Boftx....if you don't keep your wife away from the slot machines we will very soon be discussing your McDonalds burger flipping style not your poker style. Just a thought. Domestic arrangements aside, most experts advise that your poker bankroll is sacred and isn't to be used for ANYTHING else short of an emergency. make a new deal--- Gary | ||
