| Knowing the micro-limits, I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing a 6-4 or 6-9 and beat you with a boat. If you lost this one, I doubt there was anything more you could have done. You play big PPs as fast as you can manage, especially if they stay overpairs. -Moz "It's not so much that I have confidence in scientists being right; it's that I have so much confidence in non-scientists being wrong." | ||

| He would have capped with either a 6 or a 9. He had KK. | ||

| HA! Just goes to show you how unpredictabel I know the micro-limits to be. You just never know what someone has. Anyway, there's little you can do about that. The beauty of pocket pairs is that they are so well hidden. He actually underplayed his hand slightly, but I don't blame him; he probably was afraid you had AA. :) -Moz "It's not so much that I have confidence in scientists being right; it's that I have so much confidence in non-scientists being wrong." | ||

| Is it better to err on the side of overplaying or underplaying overpairs? | ||

| Eihli you took over the betting in this hand assuming you were good with QQ both before the flop and on the flop when it came 9-4-6....I think that you made a reasonable assumption that you were leading. You also continued to bet when a 6 came on the turn and were called by your lone opponent. I think it is only reasonable to believe you are still winning in this hand. The river brings a 9 for a final board of 9-4-6-6-9 and you checked. I think you should bet your hand again on the river for these reasons.....1) Your only opponent raised before the flop and is UNLIKELY to have a 6 or a 9 in his hand. 2) Your opponent would always pay you off with 10,JJ and ESPECIALLY any hand containing an ace since the board has now double paired on the river. However your opponent will LIKELY check all of these hands fearing you have him beat. Bet the river here....it is easily the best play!!!! I have lots of guesses what your opponent might have but if I were to guess the weakest hand he may hold I would say something like 3,3 in which he was counterfeited and made a hopeless bet on the river. There is also the possibility that your opponent made four sixes on the turn or some other monster and was waiting til the river to hit you.......regardless of all these thoughts you should still bet the river. Good luck!!! GRANT PITTMAN | ||

| That's what I thought I should have done after the hand was over. If you were raised after the bet would it be a sure fold? | ||
