Toilet paper?
Trash cans lined?
Clock in plain view for all players?

How is the dealer chosen? If you have one, the dealer should draw his seat card first, then everybody rotates off of that number.

Forgot about that... thanks.

The original plan was to pass the deal to each player. Is that a bad idea?

Yes, bad idea. You don't want a dealer on one end of the table slinging cards to the other end of the table...........and not being able to rake in the bets the proper way, etc., etc.
Find 2 people to deal, have them draw cards, then go from there.

Also......
-Do you have 2 dealer buttons?
-Print the blind structure for each table
-Label the chips with dollar values if they aren't printed already. Put 2 sets on each table (at each end)

sounds good to me.

crappy little ones, but yes.

done

Hadn't thought of that either. Thanks.

Another question. How many decks of cards would you have on hand? Use the same deck on each table through the whole tournament?

2 decks working, per table. Somebody shuffles while the other one is in play.

No need to change decks unless you drop a bunch and bend them, ....... something physical like that.

Somebody that is losing will ask for a deck change. Swap decks between tables and forge ahead (or tell them to shut their pie hole) You can also swap 'em at the breaks to keep things honest.

I just hosted one this past weekend. Although mine went real smooth, you should have a way to deal with conflict. We made a three person commitee with an alternate to resolve disputes (alternate in case one of the committee involved in the hand). I found the key with my tournament was that everyone had a great time. Make sure before hand that there won't be any problems with rules or food. A full stomach is a happy stomach. Print out any rules that you might play by. My tournament had many novices so I had the basic rules printed out and at each table. Email me at brentpoker@yahoo.com if you would like a copy.
