| I was looking forward to this weekend. Emipirepoker was having it's first semi-final for their $9200 Australia poker tournament. I won my way in via a $1 tournament that got me a seat in the $25 tournament that got me to the semi-finals. 1 trip for every 50 entries. Low and behold, only 57 people were in this round. I thought this would be a huge tournament. Anyways, I play the type of poker that got me to this tournament, but it didn't work. I had trips busted by a 4 card str8 and a 4 card flush and a boat made on the river. I was absolutely dumbfounded by my luck. Check raising met nothing to these people. All 3 called me down to the river only to get the miracle card each time. I would have been up huge if these plays would have gone my way. Good news was I didn't go on tilt after each suck out. Continued to play solid poker. I busted out 54 out of 57. I went to party to play some 1/2 limit HE. My $34 bankroll took a beating. All from one guy that was on fire. He busted my 2 pairs 3 times with sets. Or busted my sets with str8 or flushes. Again I was dumbfounded. Took my last $11 and jumped into a SnG. Good news was I came in 2nd. Recovered my 1/2 losses, mostly. Jumped into a $11 super satelitte. 765 entered. I played 3 hours. Was doing pretty well. Then 4 hands in a row (over a total of 20 hands), my raises were re-raised by 4 to 5 BB. I think I made the right call by folding. My final hand, AQo was busted by J5, when his 5 made a str8 on the river. In hindsight, I think I should have played another SnG. Plan for this week, play some more $1 tourneys to get into the next semi. Play some SnGs on party this weekend. Aaaah I feel better. | ||
