| I read excepts from this book and i liked what i read. But what I really like from these current books with similar themes, and currently 2 come to mind, is that there is alot more players adopting this kind of play with very little sound poker skills. It really makes a big pot for you. I hope alot more players buy these books, then go out a play poker. A beginner can't stand on these books alone and win. They really can't. especially in lower limit games, as cantfoldem stated, and alot of people buying this books will be playing just these levels at first. The current theme of Raise, Raise, Raise, is becoming increasingly more popular among player, and I will agree that a raise is a powerful tool, in the hands of a beginner it only creates a big pot for a more advanced player. So if you new go buy these book, and I hope I see you at my table. Take care. | ||

| I read the "strategies and tactics" book and found it very interesting. Especially, where he recommended that you take a careful look at your game and examine your leaks, playing style etc. I applied some of his suggestion and for awhile it was working. The table changed players and that 'take charge' style did not work any more. I don't mean raise, raise. raise.. but firm solid play. I was able to own the table for a few hours. It ended when a calling station sat down and did not know she was 'supposed' to fold. :) IMHO winning at low limit poker is a combination of luck and skill. Sometimes good luck and sometimes not so good. Since a lot of players play any 2 cards from any position. I recommend the book. | ||
