LL vs. NL HE QUESTION, socal_1111, 12. Sep 2003 13:27

It is my understanding that in LL it is much more difficult to manipulate pot odds and try to represent a speciific hand that flopped (when you really haven't hit it) than in NL for obvious reasons. That being said, I am having a very difficult time making my opponents muck on the flop, the turn... any damn time really... no matter how much the bet or what's in the pot- even when they aren't holding a thing. Now, of course the couple of better players at the table will do what "they're supposed to do when they're supposed to do it," but for the most part I encounter so many freakin' chasers... who actually hit their straight quite a bit with their 4,2o... yet, when I chase... NOTHING!!!!!

So, I guess my question (or statement that needs to just be reassured) is: I just have to stay discipline pre-flop... be aggressive with my AA, KK, AKs, etc and get in as cheaply as possible with my marginal hands????? If I don't hit on the flop, GET OUT- DON'T CHASE THAT SET?????? Or whatever we like to chase down the river.

In LL games it will be very difficult to make the table muck early????
It get's so frustrating watching all those pots go by over and over, because I didn't want to play my J6o... THEN WATCH... "fullhouse Jacks over 6's again!!!" ---Wutcha think?

http://www.lowlimitholdem.com has an excellent discussion of how to deal with the games you are describing. It has helped me immensely along with the advice here on UPF.
