| This is my first post (great forum by the way). Ive been playing Hold Em for about 2 months and gradually getting better. I have several questions. 1. Playing NL and knowing nothing else about the situation, what do you do when you think you have the 2nd best hand? Lets say you have K6 in the BB. The flop is K 10 2 rainbow. Someone bets 4 times the BB. Would you fold thinking he has a K and a better kicker or would you raise to get info? It seems when I fold, he is betting second pair (the 10) and when I raise he has KQ. 2. Along the same lines what do you do if you have second pair. You are in the BB with 10 8 and the flop is K 10 2 rainbow. There are 3 limpers. Do you bet or check. If you bet, then how big. Thes 2 situations are giving me fits. 3. Lastly, if Im playing .10/.25 NL with $25 max table stakes and Ive averaged a win rate of $11/hr for the past 2000 hands....is that great, good, average, or bad? Thanks | ||

If someone bets 4x the BB with only 2nd pair, they are going to lose eventually. Unless of course he is betting EVERY pot then you might re-raise. IF he has the 10.. he'll probably fold. > 2. Thes 2 situations are giving me fits. i fold in this situation too. There's no sense in playing bad hands.. even if you think nobody has any of it at that point. Chances are they're holding Ax or Qx or Jx... possibly K low card if they're limping.. so just get out. Why waste bets on bad hands. > 3. Pretty good I'd say.. that's a profit of about 500-600 (assuming 40 hands an hour) so you've done GREAT IMO | ||

| ICEMAN5, YOU ARE SO NEW TO THE GAME,, AND WINNING SO MUCH THAT YOU DO NOT NEED MUCH ADVICE. BUT YOU MUST PLAY A LOT MORE AND GET YOUR INSTINCTS GOING. AS TO YOUR CALLING WITH A K6------ HOW CAN YOU THINK THAT MIGHT BE SECOND BEST? ANYWAY KEEP PLAYING AND HVE FUN AND LEARN. LJH | ||
