Have been wondering about this for sometime,,,,what game is better to play in tournaments....and sng's..I have always suspected it is limit as newcomers and people who want a "bang" for their buck would likely gravitate there.I seek to play with the worst players available!!I kknow the best players play NL...and I seek to avoid playing with them

I am not sure that I would agree that the better players play the no limits sng's. I have just started playing NL sng's and I was pleasantly surprise on how weak alot of the players are.

I am finding that if you have solid style of play and demostrate some risk adversion that you will have a big advantage in NL.

Hi Coach

If you are looking to play with the worst players....limit is probably the way to go...that said, the players at NL do not seem all that great to me and NL is a more skillful contest.....I would have more expectation in the NL in spite of the fact that I am a better limit player!

The major reason I am primarily playing limit sng's is the "limit" nature and the ability to withstand a few bad beats...I still get trapped but usually am able to recover and make it into the $$$.I sense that NL is too much of a 1 bad beat and you're out deal

If you were bored you could go back and find some posts of mine asking the same questions you are coach, and I felt the same way. I was playing limit tournaments because I could withstand a bad beat or two and still finish in the money. In NL tournaments one bad beat and I was out.

I still like limit tournaments, but have found that I can do just as well or better at NL tournaments. For met (this may not be a problem for you), I think that I was over-playing hands such as T-T, J-J, Q-Q, and A-K. Once I stopped overbetting with hands like these, and started having the discipline to lay down a hand like that early in the tournament I started having much better results. NL tournamnets are about survival, and in a lot of SnG's many players really don't realize that.

If you are interested in playing more NL SnG's, I would suggest reading the post "Best NL Tournament Advice Ever" that is a couple pages deep, it has some excellent advice.

Good luck!
