| Friends of mine and I have a NL tourney that we hold ($10 buy in). There are a couple that always get bumped out early, so we have talked about rebuys. What is the standard with rebuys and what would be a good way to structure them? Thanks for any posts, John | ||

| The most common rebuy structures I see here in the Midwest are either a specific number of rebuys per player (1 or 2 max), or unlimited rebuys for a certain period of time--usually the first hour of play. And typically, the rebuy either gets you the same amount of chips you started with, or double. If you want the prize pool to grow quickly, do unlimited rebuys for the first hour--then take everyone's money as they play with complete disregard for poker odds and general poker theory. | ||

| I like the way you think... One question - is a player that does not rebuy at a disadvantage when others do, or does it depend on the size of his stacks? Thanks. | ||

| Most simple - "If you get knocked out within the first hour, you can re-buy for the same amount and start over." Next Level of Confusion - "At anytime that you have less than the original buy-in (at the beginning of a hand), you may re-buy for the same amount and add that to your existing stack. At the end of the first hour this choice will be given again to all players, regardless of stack (called an add-on), then all buying will cease." Next Level - "At anytime that you are less than the original buy-in, you may re-buy for the same amount and add that to your existing stack. Anyone that is at 0.00 may re-buy for twice the original amount if desired. At the end of the first hour this choice will be given again to all players, regardless of stack (called an add-on), then all buying will cease." Just make 'em up as you go... :) | ||
