| A question of seating preference for you poker experts. Online, would you rather sit in front of a person that you had identified their raising pattern on or behind? The person in question, always raises when he's first to act pre-flop(UTG), regardless of his hand. He seems to be a decent and aggressive player. Plays anything that equals 20 and above, most aces, but also mixes his play up a little with rags. He's been kind of my Achilles heel on a few hands of late...mostly catching his cards on the turn. I'm leaning towards sitting behind him, b/c I know if I raise in front, he'll re-raise regardless. Thought maybe re-raising behind him would cool him off a little. This assumes I've got decent enough cards to play. | ||

| I would rather be behind him because then I get to throw away marginal hands to a raise tha I might have limped with and then he would raise. Also, when you have a great hand, you can 3-bet and punish him if he is coming in with AJo or KQo or other EP trash hands. | ||

| If you know that he will re-raise any time you raise, I might want to sit in front of him. He would really help my raises to isolate to only 1 or 2 opponents. If he was unpredictable, then I would want to sit behind him. But if he is really as predictable is you said then I could use that information without having to sit behind him. (And maybe gain important information from someone else who I didn't know as well.) | ||

| I sat in a 6-handed 2/4 game last nite on UB with a player exactly like this, only worse. This joker raised EVERY bet, every hand. He was 2 off my right, so I could take advantage of this nicely after I realized what he was doin. (only took 1 hand to suspect it and the 2nd confirmed it). He was completely predictable in this behaviour and he helped the pots pay off handsomely. But I had to play a much tighter game than normal because he WOULD catch once in a while. Overall, it was better when he was in back of me. I could count on a raise when I had the nuts and others stayin in with a draw because everyone knew he would raise with pure crap. | ||
