| With these hands, should you overbet to push out people with overcards, or underbet to have an easy escape when overcards hit? | ||

| I think you need to separate the hands a bit. KK is much stronger than QQ or JJ because you eliminate 1 of the over cards that can hurt you (K). So, you can afford to play KK less aggressively, although you might not want to anyway. There is rarely a reason to bet more than the pot in NL as a pot-sized bet should skew the odds well enough that most reasonable folks would fold. Also, it protects you from committing too many chips on the off chance someone holds AA. The only exception I can think of is in a tournament where you might want to bet an amount that would put someone all-in...this could be more than the pot. I would tend to bet more aggressively with JJ and QQ as those two need more protection from AK and AQ (in JJ case) then KK does. | ||

| EIHLI, THE FIRST THING YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER, IS THAT THE LARGER PAIRS, CANNOT BE LUMPED INTO A GROUP, AS CAN THE BABIES ( 2 3 4 5 ) MEDIUM 6 7 8 9. IN OTHER WORDS, Q Q IS CONSIDERABLY BETTER THAN JJ. KK IS VERY SUBSTANTIALY BETTER THAN QQ, ETC. THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!! THERE ARE MANY ISSUES THAT YOU DON'T ASK. TOURNAMENT, LIVE GAME STACK SIZE, REMAINING PLAYERS ETC. THE ISSUE IS NOT WHETHER OVERCARDS HIT, BUT THE CHANCE OF SOMEONE HAVING A BIGGER PAIR, MEASURED BY THE CHANCE OF SOMEONE CALLING WITH A LESSOR HAND. IF YOU ARE PLAYING A LIVE GAME, AND HAVE A SMALL AMOUNT, SAY THREE OR FOUR HUNDRED, I WOULD GO ALL IN WITH ACES OR KINGS, BET ABOUT $100 WITH QUEENS, AND FIFTY WITH JACKS.
