I'm venting. If you don't want to hear it, than don't.

I just got home from playing 4-8 for two hours and won exactly one hand. A chop. Because the board was a straight flush. Other than that, My AA got cracked by a Q7 that RAISED into me pre-flop and then made a flush. My AKs was beat by someone with 82 (and no piece of the board) who made a river flush, when I had top pair (now I know why people get shot in the parking lot of casinos). AQ and AK lost 3 more times because the flops couldn't have possibly missed me more. Practically every time I had a pocket pair, the flop would pair higher than my pair, and someone would always have trips. Every draw missed. I've never seen anything like it.

And the part that really aggravates me was that I was playing perfectly. I had excellent reads on my opponents, two of whom were total fish that I kept trying to nail but like I said, I never had the goods. I played every hand very well- no mistakes. Calling correctly, raising correctly, etc. The only thing I did incorrectly was show up in the first place.

I'm going to go play in traffic now. Thanks for listening.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. (both of you). I played in a $260 Omaha 8 tourney recently and won 1/2 of one pot, and 1/4 of another pot before I was blinded out. And those were the only two hands I played past the flop except the very last hand (and I was playing tight!)... Oh well, some days are just like that.

Hey Jav,

That's true.......some days are just not going to go our way, regardless. Luckily for me, I didn't enter that many pots anyway, and my session was rather short, so my loss for that night wasn't that bad, (considering).

Sorry you didn't get more good hands to come in with; that's why you just have to get lucky as well when you play in tournaments because with no cards, it's very easy to get blinded out before you know it. Better luck to "us"!!!

yeah - I won on Saturday and had some bad beats in reverse. But on Sunday I lost most of it back to bad beats and just plain bad cards. If you can't play the trash cards the time charges ($10 hour) and the blinds ($6/$4) bleed you dry. In 3 hours played 10 hands and won 4 - time and blinds cost about $170.

Bad day at black rock.

Read Zen and the Art of Poker. I picked it up at a book store on sale for 5 bucks. You'll look at nights like this in a whole new light if you really pay attention to it. Sometimes I laugh at the stuff people crack my big hands with. Keep your cool and remember that if they didn't get lucky from time to time, they wouldn't keep playing. And 2 hours isn't a huge session to begin with, so some terrible nights are to be expected.

Hi. There is good news. I can pretty much guarantee that your next poker session is going to be better. At least in terms of pots won.
