Hey all, I moved to Las Vegas in May of 2002 to play poker professionally. How this came to be is a long story that I doubt many of you would be interested in. Two of the 3 poker authorities I respect the most (Roy Cooke and Mike Caro) advise in their respective columns and books, that people who consider playing poker for a living should 'keep their day jobs'. While the knowledge I gained from their literature has been key to my success, I'm glad I ignored that specific advice! As Jeanette Lee (a professional pool player) said recently; "you have to want to win more than you are afraid to lose". I studied and played and worked my way into being a consistent winner. It took about 4 years to accomplish (it was like going to college again) but If you can save enough money, and you're not risking the security of a family to do so, put in the hours and the hard work and take a shot!!!!
