I was just wondering if there is any reason to be upset if you lose to someone who has absolutely no experience and just chases everything and ends up beating you on a terrible hand turned good. Do I have any reason to be upset or pissed off.

No good reason. The discipline required to be able to shrug this off and see the bigger picture is also necessary to be a good poker player in general. You don't see too many hotheads winning regularly.

I would say that in a bizzare way i actualy like people chasing me with crap hands and draws that do not warrant playing. If they keep playing at my table they are going to lose their money in the long run, sure they might win a few pots off me but i sure as hell will win all the money if we play long enough. Playing poker with inferior player is like being the house on roulette, the player might win big a few times but in the long run the house gets all the money !

Encourage bad players to keep on playing the way they are unless you are playing for ego and not money. I would prefer to boost up someones ego make them feel good and then walk away with a pocket full of cash. Self confidence in ones own play is vital in poker if you want to take the money. A simple sincere " you got me good " as the fish scoops the money is all that is necessary IMO

So do you mean congradulate them and make them feel good, Still playing conservative cause eventually there luck will run out and you will come out victorious. You should probably have a pretty big bankroll then so you can afford to keep calling the blinds or eventually your going to run out of money if your looking for good cards every hand with a small bankroll. Am I right?

You HAVE to only look for good cards in poker regardless of your bankroll, playing the right cards in the right position is key to any poker player wanting to play a winning game.

I think you might be letting pride get in the way of money if you play to get even with someone who just fluked out on you the bankroll you have will be neither here nor there, you will lose it all !

Yea but what if I start with a low bankroll I won't be able to catch as many good cards if I dont have any money left cause I've blinded out what should I do if I'm running low. I KNOW that in poker you absolutely have to look for good cards.

You're expected to win some pots with those good cards and get to keep or build your bankroll. If you don't start with much, or you find yourself shortstacked, try to avoid drawing situations even if you have good odds. You really want to have what you think is the best hand and let everyone else chase trying to catch up. Therefore in hold'em when shortstacked you don't want to come into a multiway pot with hands like AXs even though this is ordinarily a reasonable play. Wait for a big pair or two big cards and continue if you have top pair, an overpair, or better on the flop. If you lose a small bankroll, all you can do is replace it and try again. It is better to have enough to begin with, but it's not impossible to start short and hit an immediate winning streak. If you continue to lose with short money, you should reevaluate your game and wait until you are better financed.

I fyou are disciplined you have the money to capitalize on luck.

If you are not disciplined you are lucky if you have money to capitalize on luck.

The old saying is that 'a fool and his money are soon parted.'

Hell, a fool is lucky to have any money to begin with.
