| I am VERY new to online poker, being that I learned to play with a bunch of old men in Brooklyn 25 yrs ago, and I am playing freerolls. I am afraid to deposit money online for fear of collusion, and the fact that the people I play online are rude punks.... I believe in fair play with lots of banter, but I find myself playing with people that go all in with 73 offsuit and win. I am very uneasy about playing real money online...any sites that are str8 up? | ||

| Sure, there are many sites which are legitimate, and they can be profitable. Many of them will give you a "sigh-up bonus" with your first real money deposit, predicated on your playing some specified number of raked hands. Although there are always some crazies, you will find the play much tighter when playing for real money instead of "fun dollars." Try Paradise, Party, Planet, UltimateBet, or PokerRoom. | scary, but I play at all of those sites...haven't deposited money yet, but find people very unprofessional with their play. Should I be playing high limit tables? | ||

| from reading your post it sounds like you are playing the play money tables. The is a hugh difference between play money and real money. All the sites from the previous post are fine, deposit $50 in one of them play some .5/1 hold'em and have some fun. 99% of the people i've played against have been professional online. | You don't have to worry about your money walking away without you Just go to one of the bit online sites. For the best banter and friendly people I like planet poker. I keep $25 bucks on there just so I can play micro limit NL and shoot the breeze. Planet poker has the best micro limits down to 2 and 4 cent hold em to get your feet wet. If you are a good player the winning is easy at Paradise Poker best graphics around. UB is a little stiffer but not much and of course there is Party Poker and Empire Poker. You will find that when people are playing with there own money instead of freerolls the jerk factor goes down. See you at the tables Don | ||
