Planet poker refuses to give refferal bonus, Katharine, 9. Sep 2003 18:57

I reffered a friend 1 month ago he depostied and played quite frequently. I did not get the bonus so Icontacted support and asked why. They tell me he has to deposit a total of fifty for me to get the bonus. I ask is that it. They said yes once he deposits 20 more as he had deposited 30 before I will get the bonus. Ok so recently I contacted my friend and asked him if he could deposit another 20. He did so.

Again I contact support because the bonus had not been credited to my account. They tell me that he has to play a certain amount of hands to get the bonus. I know he has already played over 200 hands because he played there for over 2 hours. They told me he would have to play 200 more. I said why was I lied to. The support person before said all He would have to do is deposit up to the full fifty by making another 20 deposit. and I would get it no questions asked. Now I am being told something totally different and I was lied to. Most other sites require 125 hands and a deposit of 50 to get the refferal bonus. Planet seems to just make the rules as they go along and I dont think this is fair. Until they clear this up and make good on their promiss both my friend and I will refuse to play on their site. Note in their refferal section it says nothing about the amount of hands you haev to play exactly. It estimates 100 hands at 3/6 and above and thats it. More if you play below that. But they seem to change the number every time I ask them. They need to fix this or we will both refuse to play there and I wont refer anyone else to their site.

Sounds like a bit of a run-around. I don't like the fact that they are being stingy with the bonus, since you complained and all. I think that successful card rooms are the ones that throw around small amounts of cash when people complain and don't seem to be on a scam. I know that UB has been extremely generous with me. I had some tech difficulties with a tourney that I entered and couldn't sit in there and upon 1 complaint, the first thing they did was credit me with my buy-in to the tournament.

Likewise, Wren had to pay duty on TTH that they sent her for points, to the tune of $20. When she got something else from them, she asked them to mark it (correctly) as a gift so as to avoid duty and that she had paid it before. Without being asked, they credited her account for the amount of the duty.

I think that if Planet wants to remain competitive, they need to be aware of customer satisfaction. I wouldn't say that they did anything "wrong" in your case, but they certainly did do something bad for public relations. Now you complain here on a public forum and any number of potential players will possibly not go to their site.

Thanks for the response. Apparently they are working on it. They keep citing the hands requirement. And I keep telling them that on their site it does not give any exact detail as to how many hands have to be played. For both the referee and the refferal we are left in the darl. For all we know they could be just giving the bonus to who they want and say they have only played 50 hands. So maybe I will get the bonus today that I should have gotten a month ago, but if not I will be awaiting their next exuse for not giving it tommorow. This is getting a bit rediculous. There is simply no way to track it. Compared to other sites refferal program planets' seems like the toughest to get. Just checked with party and they require 50 raked hands for the referee to get the bonus

But that is really not the point. The point is that I was lied to, have been waiting over a month for something I should have gotten in days, and am simply getting the run around. I feel like this is an unfair way to treat players.

So after all of this time ive wasted I contact support that forward my issue to the so called refferal dept and 4 hours later I get this email.

"Hello Katharine
Reference Account #xxxxxxx
We have reviewed your referral of Robert Mead and as previously indicated, he has not yet met the referral qualifications as stated on the referral pages at the Player's Area.

Once he has met the referral qualifications you account will be credited the $50 referral bonus.

The determination as to whether a referral has met the qualification criteria is evaluated daily prior to 3PM Eastern. Payment will be credited to your player's account for all qualified referrals by 6:00 pm Eastern every Friday.

I mean what kind of support takes 4 hours to generate a 3 line response that does not even give the reason I am not getting the bonus now. They keep saying the refferal hasnt qualified. Apparently this site could care less about customer service. Not to mention the fact that I was lied to. Surprising with the 14 other online poker rooms that offer much better software and bonuses you would think they would want to make their players happy. I mean my player did deposit 50.00 has played over 200 hands and has met the qualifications per the refferal terms on the site. Planet poker just seems to be changing the rules or not giving me any details ot the exact amount of rake required. For fifty dollars this site is sure making a big deal. I reffered the player they played they deposited that is the end of my responsiblity now give me what I have earned and stop making up exuses. BAD PUBLIC RELATIONS PLANET POKER VERY VERY BAD!
