| I play primarily low limits online. I've been on a bad run of cards lately and as a result have become timid. I just now (30 seconds ago) played a hand where I had AJo. I limped in, and saw the flop with the BB and the player after the BB. The flop was JT4 with 2 diamonds. BB bets. Next guy calls. I start immediately thinking about folding. Then I suddenly wake up and say "I've got top pair with top kicker. What the hell am I doing?" I raise. Both call. Turn is a blank. Check. Check. I bet. Fold Fold. I almost threw the hand away because I was scared. I guess what I'm saying is don't play scared. It's not fun or profitable. Not that I know anything. johnny. | ||

| This is a good point. I have been experiencing my own bad run recently no matter what limit I am playing and have become gunshy too. I generally try and take a break from playing poker at all if I see this kind of behavior because if you always play this way you will never be a winning player. | ||

| Good response Steve. (The mind *has* to be focused on playing to win). Dave on 9. Sep 2003 13:08 shorn wrote: > This is a good point. | You are right johnny......100%. You can't expect to play winning poker if you become scared because you've been on a bad run of cards. Luckily you noticed it, and hopefully nipped it in the bud. If you're going to sit in the game, than you have to play your best game, otherwise forget it. Take a break and clear your mind. Come back when you're ready so you'll be able to play with confidence and desire! It's the only way to go. A very good reminder johnny. Thanks for posting it. 4 POKER on 9.
