Does any one think it is eiasr to make money playing online or in live games?
Does any one see online poker becomeing the trend in the future as apposed to live games?
If I can make a lot of money playing online free games is that a good sign to go ahead and move to 1/2 2/4.
And how can I tell that I'm ready to go play live ring games?
First two Q's are more of a discusion the second two are just for me really. Thanx

If the online games stay as good as I've seen them in the last few months, I can't see a reason to play B&M again. I played in just about every Poker room in Las Vegas 10 years ago and the games online are as good or better than any I ever saw back then. The speed and convenience of online play is really great. I can get in at least twice as many hands per hour or more, never have to wait for a waitress, can walk a few steps to the bathroom, and watch the Playboy chanel while I play. Why bother driving to a Casino, parking, standing around scouting games, waiting for a table, and toking dealers. Of course there's no comps but I got pretty tired of Casino food anyway. jmo

I much prefer live games, although at my best I make more money online.

The problem is that i get really bored playing online for any more than 40 minutes. I miss the interactions with people. Live, i can read people much better and can play a much more disciplined game. I have trouble folding 20 hands in a row online because of the monotony of it.

When i do get bored and keep playing, i usually play badly and don't care about winning or losing. Its taken me awhile to see this in myself early (rather than later). This means that i don't play online very much anymore.

Hi,

I think It is easy to make money from on-line poker, as there are many, many inexperienced people who play so poorly, but....for my livelyhood, I would rather play in live games because I prefer to play certain games at a higher limit, and there are other games (like mix games) that I play quite often in the poker rooms and they just don't offer those games on-line; and I notice that whenever I do play in these 2-way games and 3-way games, that alot of the players are solid in one game but fall short on the other games. These are just some of my reasons for preferring one over the other.

Although being able to play in multiple games at once is a preference by many, I personally like to play in just one game at a time and put all of my focus on that one game.

There are some really good conveniences that you receive from on-line poker like, no toking the dealers, not having to leave your home, being able to just sit there in your pajamas, etc. etc., but in my opinion.... nothing replaces the feeling that you get from playing the game "live" as for me....that is how poker should be played; being able to actually touch your cards, and staring your opponent right in the eyes! Being able to interact with the other players and just listening to the sound of real chips being handled! It may sound silly to some, but I get way more enjoyment, and I do make more money playing in live poker games, so that is a good reason I suppose, to prefer it.

I guess for many of those who aren't conveviently located by a casino, then on-line poker is *definitely* a big bonus (and I do enjoy it myself), but if I had to chose from one or the other, than I would chose the B&M.
It's just personal preference and your own personal results ($).

I am sure that some online players collaborate to get an advantage on the odds by knowing more about the cards that are out. Why draw to an A if your friend folded one? Or two hearts?

I think that it might go on in live games. But, I am not sure. Friends could raise each other to get the pot larger and split winnings later?

Comments? Ideas? Or am I all wet?

I like the "live" action - enjoy the games more.

too many cheats online, plus I like the opportunity to see my opponents, their reactions, mannerisms and greatly miss the interaction. Playing at party poker in their semifinal for the cruise and I bet really large on the river, everyone folded but one guy, he sat there until it timed out and then got to play for the pot that was already on the table, won on the river, that my friends is cowardice and cheating. If you play online get used to it. I'm going back to the B & M with real players and no cowards.

UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME SUPER FANTASTIC GAME, IT IS FAR,
FAR EASIER TO WIN ONLINE. MYSELF AND MOST OF MY
PRO FRIENDS, HAVE CONVERTED TO ONLINE.

NOW, HERE IN ALASKA, WE HAVE THE BEST POT LIMIT GAMES,
IN THE WORLD, ONE ONLY FIFTY YARDS FROM MY HOUSE,
AND STILL, I HARDLY EVER PLAY THEM.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A 2 3 5 BLIND $100 BUY IN GAME, WHER
I HAVE WON UP TO $7000 !!!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW
ABOUT POT LIMIT, BUT THIS IS A HUGE AMOUNT, FOR THAT
BLIND/BUY IN STRUCTURE.

ALSO, THESE GAMES HAVE THE HIGHEST SKILL FACTOR, OF
ANY GAMES IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! (DEALER'S CHOICE, WITH
MANY CHOICES THAT ARE UNIQUE TO ALASKA, AND INVOLVE
CAREFUL DECISIONS)

YET STILL, I HAVE GONE TO ONLINE. NO, I DON'T THINK ONLINE
WILL REPLACE B@M. PEOPLE JUST LOVE TO PLAY WITH THE
CARDS AND CHIPS, BE MEAN TO THE DEALER, DON'T TRUST IT
ETC.
(WAS DEALER FOR TEN YEARS)

THE ADVANTAGES THAT ONLINE PLAY OFFERS, JUST CANNOT
BE OVERCOME, IN LIVE PLAY !!!!

EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN'T SEE YOUR OPPONENTS, WITH A LITTLE
CREATIVITY, YOU CAN USE THE PLAYER NOTES AND CHAT
FEATURE, TO OVERCOME THE ABSENSE OF A VISUAL IMAGE
OF THE OPPONENTS.
