| Thanks to the UPF posters who gave me advice on the Weekly Tourneys in Vegas... I played in 6 tourneys and 1 satellite and made final table twice and finished in the money once. I found the $25 tourneys at the Luxor to have the least amount of experienced people in them...There were only a few players that seemed to be locals. That is were I made the final table twice. I also played a tourney at the Orleans...Very large non-smoking poker room. Seemed to be mostly locals there....Everyone knew each other and the dealers. I played 4/8 before the tourney and was the youngest player at the table by 30 years. I player 4/8 for 3 hours and made one big bet an hour...The play was relatively loose. I played one satellite at The Mirage. It was $25 buyin to win a $120 buyin to the 5pm holdem tourney there. I came in second. Final hand was me 55 versus J10o...Flop came and then it went runner runner to a straight for the J10o and I was out...nothing for second...I would think they would have given me a free satellite entry, but no deal. I will try that one again next time. The tourney I played at the Orleans had over 80 entrants and was a 7stud hi-lo. $20 entry unlimited $10 rebuys for first 3 rounds, then at the end of the rebuy period you could do an add-n for $10. I was not a big fan of this tourney...I think I would have faired better in the Hold-em tourney but due to time restraints was only able to get in on the 7stud...I will definitely go back to the Orleans though...Very nice overall casino...The service in the poker room is first rate. My final tourney was a $40 buy-in with 1 $20 rebuy NLHE tourney at the Sahara...83 entrants. My general feel was that there were lots of Pros or Semi-Pros in this one...My table image got tarnished when I was in the small blind and said raise after I threw my chips in. I made it to the final four tables and then made a serious rookie error. A guy who had been on a 3 hand rush raised in early position and I look down to see AJo. I thought a bit looked at him and raised all-in...I got to isolate him, and to my dismay he was holding AKo. Ace hit the flop and I was done. I definitely want to go back to that one. Overall a great learning experience at a relatively low cost. I was very happy with my first tourney outing. Thanks again UPF, SC | ||

| Whether for the waiting lists, or the tournament updates, I found the TV monitors at the Orleans soooooooo helpful, I'll definitely be back. on 9.
