| I bought the SW yesterday. Cool program. I started playing 'calling hands' right away. It skips all hands not worth 1 bet. So you can play a lot of good hands. I played 150 or so using the advice and I noticed several things. My AA never got cracked. There were fewer bad beats. This is 10-20 limit with the default tight, average and loose players. I did a look afterward to see all the cards dealt. Well the 66 would have won with a ST8 but the KK forced him to fold. With this setup the tight agressinve approach works great. I replayed the hands using different styles and won when I was aggressive (got better hands to fold). Unfortunately, this is not reality. In a 3-6 the 66 would have kept calling and got his ST8 on the river. The program as it is set is for professional players that play in good games where people play by the rules and use odds. As it is set now I do not believe it is useful for LLHE. However, if you can beat the tough games then maybe you can beat the easier games. "Know when to fold them is the 3-6 mantra ! " River Rats run wild and will bite you! I challenged MIke right away to 50 hands... well he won $1000 and I won $700 with the same hands. Gives you an idea of my skill level. The second challenge he lost 91 and I lost 212. Great program for 90$ ( I lose that in a given night ! ) | ||

| There is PSO (Poker School Online) at www.pokerpages.com and the school has created some pretty tough players. There is also the PSHK (Poker School of Hard Knocks) where you study and play until you get better, ... with UPF, of course ... :) flintsword | ||

| Try getting your feet wet at the low limit online games......But first, I would recommend that you read Hold'em poker by David Sklansky (available at www.conjelco.com)...The small yellow book...It is an easy read with good basic information. | I have been in pokerschool for 4 months and I love it. $15 a month. It has improved my game a lot but I have a long ways to go to win consistenly at LLHE. Come in 1st or 2ed when I get good cards - best is 1st out of 99 at limit trourny. Once or twice 1st in NL out of 60-70. My overall rank is average since when I get bad cards I play them wrong. One player did win a $10000 buyin to the WPO in 2003. I recommend it for the price. Mostly aimed at tournments. Omaha, 7Stud, HE, limit and NL. | ||
