| I was playing in a LIMIT Hold 'Em tournament when I got pocket Kings in the small blind. I had about T2500 (average stack for the tourney) and the blinds were 100-200. The entire table folds to me. I raised, the BB folds. I take his 200. I was wondering if this is a situation where I should have called and seen a flop. I know that KK is great for heads up and I got caught up in the "raise when you have KK" mentality so I raised and won only the BB. Is it worth the risk to see a flop? beigs | ||

| Raising is good here, IMO. The big blind is likely to call you anyway, and the hands he won't call you with preflop he is unlikely to give you much action on after the flop anyway (unless he flops 2 pair, of course) Mark | ||

| If the entire table folded to you, the only meat on the table is the BB. Is the BB a loose player? How did he react the last time you were heads up with you? Will he try to push you off your hand after the flop and hand you some chips? The decision to slowplay the kings is so dependent on very specific criteria of the game itself that it is not a general call. What is the risk you will be drawn out on? Well, if he has an ace, he will call your raise anyways to defend his blind, so this may be a good position to call and see the flop. You have to bet the flop though, ... the idea is NOT to give the BB infinite odds to makes some bogus hand that cracks your kings. I would make a decision based on the way the BB played in the game, but would consider both options as viable. Hope this helps & good luck in your games flintsword | ||
