| Hi, The first thing I want to say is that I am not Craig T. Anyway, I am thinking about playing in some NL ring games. My confusion is that I see (online) that the 'limits' are low (.25/.50 and .50/1.00). I realize this is for the blinds but obviously it can't be for the betting structure. I guess my question is, what does it really matter what the 'limits' are for NL at this level? If I am playing tight-aggressive, I am not going to play many hands, but when I do, I am coming in for more than a dollar. Additionally, I play some NL tournaments and am used to everyone starting out with the same amount of chips. In a ring game, people are obviously going to have varying amounts of money in front of them. Aren't the 'big stacks' in these games already playing with an advantage? If I do sit down at one of these tables, how much should I sit down with? Should I try to match the largest stack currently at the table? The old "25 times the big bet" rule wouldn't hold true for NL would it? Sitting down at a .25/.50 NL table with 12.50 really doesn't sound like enough to me. Any thoughts? Steve | ||

| Steve - I play at UB usually at the .25/.50 limit tables. I usually buy in with $25 - 1/2 the maximum. I also try to avoid table where there is a big leader (someone over $100) because that person will tend to run the table with his/her stack. | ||

| Sar- The tables online allow maximum buy-ins of $25, $50 or $100 depending on the site. So, the players who have large stacks have busted 1 or 2 folks of their amount and that is the only reason they have more. The limits are important for a few reasons. Because they are so low, it encourages much more limping than you would see in a normal $5-5-10 NL ring game. Also, there is less incentive for anyone to raise a large amount with anything other than AA-QQ or perhaps AK to steal the blinds because they aren't that great. I think you can play your tight aggressive strategy, but be prepared for some wild swings. I played on a table the other day and lost my whole stack ($85 at the time) with KK to a fellow holding 99 and the board read QT279 on the end. I raised to $10 pre-flop which he called and bet the pot on the flop ($25) and went all-in on the turn and still he came and hit. Good luck to you. Steve | ||

| You may have already found out by the time you read this but there is a max buy in limit at these games. | ||
