| In a low limit hold'em game, what kind of hands do you call with in the small blind? What kind of hands would you call a raise with in the big or little blind? | ||

| Assuming the small blind is half the big blind and not a third or two thirds, I call with offsuit connectors down to 7-6, 9-7, any ace (just be careful if you can't let go of an ace high flop) or suited king, down to Q-7s, down to J-8s, Q-8o and up, J-9o and up, suited connectors down to 4-5s, and any pair. I will call a legitimate raise (not a steal) from the small blind using the Ciaffone rule. If I would cold call the raise from the button, I will cold call the raise from the small blind. From the big blind facing a legitimate raise, I will loosen up and call with just about anything I'd limp in on the puck with. Just be careful if you do call a raise with something like QJs and flop top pair. It might be good, it might not, and if you don't think you can tell, then it's better to just let the blind go. If it's a steal raise, it depends on who is doing the stealing. If they have been robbing me every time they get the chance, I'll play back with as little as ace high and defend as bad as K-6o. If they are playing tight and not stealing a lot, I will be more apt to give them credit for a hand when they open for a raise, and will probably fold something marginally defendable. Defending against a steal is a big function of your opponent, and the best way to get used to it is to be in the situation a lot and see how the hands play. Lee | ||

| i won't repeat what I have said in a previous post about how I handle the blinds but you can find it by searching my past history post. Hopefully it will help as it has proven to be if not profitable at least it has help to curtail my losses as those two positions are still my only ones in the red. good luck | ||
