| I'm going on a whirlwind tour of California this weekend to check out graduate schools and scout out living. I'll be flying into LA tonight, looking at San Diego tomorrow, San Fran Sat and departing back to New England Monday morning. Anyway the reason for the post is that I'll have about 24 hours to kill from Sunday morning to Monday morning. I'll be flying back into the Santa Ana airport Sunday morning and depart out of LAX Monday and was wondering if someone could let me know of a nice little poker room I could visit to kill a few hours Sunday. I was trying to avoid going into LA too much, so if there's anything in or around Santa Ana that'd be perfect...if not I can brave the downtown LA area..maybe... Can anyone help? | ||

| Lots of good places...depends on where you're staying. Hollywood Park is about 3 miles from LAX. Lots of good action there. (Lots of cheap airport hotels, too if you need a place to stay). Commerce Casino is midway between Anaheim and LA and is another good bet. | ||

| Most of the cardrooms around LA are closer to you than you think, since they're all in the southern part of LA (none of them are downtown) and you won't have to mix it up too much in LA traffic (and besides it's a Sunday, so traffic will be slightly less unbearable). Hollywood Park of course is right by LAX, Commerce is straight up the 5 about 20 miles north from Santa Ana/Irvine, Hawaiian Gardens is even closer. The Bike is in the same general South LA area. Best advice is to play at Hollywood Park not only since it's so close to LAX, but it's a straight shot up the 405 from Irvine, about 20 miles or so. Commerce and the Bike would be more out of your way if you're connecting the dots between John Wayne and LAX. HP also has a good low buy in limit HE tourney on Sunday mornings at 11:30 if you're interested. And BTW, move to the Bay Area or San Diego if the option exists. They're both so much nicer than LA, and we're too crowded anyway. Eli on 4.
