I have been playing pretty heavily over at Poker School Online and have improved my game (IMO) ten fold. The resaon I say this is because I have now folded more winners then I have losers :-)

PSO recently updated their software and now allows you to make notes on the players. My question is what do you guys put in you player Notes? What triggers you to right click and add something in their? I am completely lost on this portion of the game, observing players that is.

I usually put down some observations that I have noticed from their play. e.j. Defends his blinds, Calling Station, plays any ace. That sort of thing. That way if I ever play against that player I already know something of their playing style.

What do you mean by "Calling Station"?

Is that someone that calls just about every flop?

Blind Defender? Someone who raises every time they have a blind?

I am also curious if people sit there with a pad and paper and keep track of what is happening at the table (I am speaking mostly NLHE tourneys)? I am thinking of making a graph chart that lists some of the following: Player Handle / Button Tendencies / SB Tendencies / BB tendencies / Calls/Raises when starting a Hand / etc

A calling station will play just about any 2 cards hoping to catch something. It is almost impossible to bluff these players.

Someone who defends thier blinds are not easily bluffed when in that position. Some people are easly taken down when in the blinds and you raise them.

If a player raises pre flop, and it goes to the showdown I like to put what he raised with. If he is raising with 55 or AJ offsuit, I am more likely to reraise or call with a marginal hand. I will also note if a player calls all the way to the river with KK or QQ and an A on the board. You can make many extra bets on players that cannot fold a high pair when beaten. Another thing I note is if a player goes on tilt when only having 4 or 5 big bets left. Many player will give away their last $25 on marginal hands instead of standing up and leaving. If this player raises, you can reraise to try and isolate the two of you and get his last $$. What baffles me is that these players will then rebuy and tighten up??
