...that I should not have even been in the hand to start with!

I really sucked-out on this one, but landed a >$200 pot at a 3/6 table in the process, and beat these guys at their own game. Here's how it wen't down:

I'm playing 3/6, and there are several regulars who never bothered to learn how to play well. At least two of them are the type to raise any ace, any two suited cards, and any connected cards. They have no concept of position and love to talk about how the game is all luck and there's no skill involved. They will also call all the way with ace high, no matter what's on the board. One of them raises every kill blind just because it's a kill blind. Between them, they had managed to crack my AA, AK and QQ, no matter how hard I pushed, with miracle draws at the river. I see these guys often, and I don't generally get too bothered by them, because they donate a lot of money to my bankroll.

Anyway, shortly before I left, I'm dealt 22 UTG in a kill pot. More reacting than thinking, I toss in $6. One more player limped in (a fairly solid and straight-forward player who I respect) and, as I should have known would happen, this guy who ALWAYS raises the kill threw in $12. Both of us called.

Like I said, I'm not sure why I'm playing this hand. I'm chastising my self as I see the flop come 2 A T... well, I caught the set.

I think, "I need to bet this. If this guy has a legitimate hand, he'll raise, otherwise, he'll call down and pay me off," so I bet. Guy between us calls, Kill-Raiser calls. No I know I'm good; he's very predictable. At this point I know he doesn't have AA, TT, AT, A2 or T2, because he would have raised all of those.

Turn comes a K. I bet, MP player calls, and kill-raiser raises. Now I know what he has, without doubt: QJ for the str8. Again, reacting wihtout thinking, I call his raise and begin praying for the board to pair.

River comes a sweet, beautiful A. I say, disgustedly, "check to the raiser," MP player checks, and kill-raiser, of course, bets out. I immediately raise all-in for my last $20 ($4 short of the complete raise, damn...) MP folds and kill-raiser looks at me like I have 3 heads; can't I see he made the str8? What the hell is wrong with me? If I wasn't all-in, he would have re-raised me... oh, that woulda been sweet! Anyway, I turn over my pocket dueces for the boat, and about pissed himself.

The moral of the story is, I'm getting all kinds of compliments from the table about how "well" I played that hand, and all I could think is that the really funny part is that I should never even have been in that hand. LOL!
