| Got to Mirage around 2pm. Sat down at the 1st available 3/6 game. I wait until the cutoff to post so I can watch everybody. My first hand is AA. UTG folds. Next player (seat 7) raises. Seat 8 3 bets. Next two fold to me. I 4 bet. Button folds. SB calls (?). BB folds. Seat 7 caps. 8 calls and I call. Flop 8 ( x K diamonds ). I don't like that. SB checks. Seat 7 bets. Seat 8 raises. I 3 bet to see where I'm at plus I have Ad so I may pick up another diamond. All call. Turn Qh. I don't like that either. SB raised w/ KQ in an earlier hand. It occurs to me that I may have done all of the work for 7 if he has trip kings and he may be setting up a check raise on the turn. I know he has a big pocket pair because in an earlier hand he 3 bet from the BB but called when it was 4 bet then check called a J 8 9 flop and folded when the initial raiser was check raised. SB, 7, & 8 check to me. I check to. At this point the pot is laying 16 to 1 odds. Perhaps checking was wrong. I don't know. Please comment. River is 8d. 7 bets. 8 calls. I call but I don't like it. The pot is laying 18 to 1. SB calls. 7 has AA. 8 has 4d7d. I've had Aces beat plenty so it doesn't phase me but I am wondering about my play and my thinking. Any comments would be appreciated. Also in a 1-4-8-8 game at the Sahara, I limp in w/ 22. I normally don't play that in that position but the game didn't have too much raising so if it gets raised I'll fold. Next 2 players call. Next player makes it $6. 4 more callers including the blinds. I notice the player next to me already put her chips in as I am debating calling. Since she calls and the last player to call is my girlfriends sister and I know she will call, I decide to call. I have 7 opponents and I know it's 7 to 1 to improve. Is that the proper way to play. Incidentally, the flop was K Q 2 with 2 spades. I took a nice pot. Thank you, Chris. | ||

| The Sahara game has $1 and $2 blinds and I limped in early position with the pocket 2s. Just to clarify. | ||

| I would have played the deuces with that many people in the pot. On the aces hand, I probably would have bet the turn due to the flush draw, but checking is a viable alternative since you do have to be afraid of KK and QQ. There wasn't much you could have done to get Mr. flush draw out of the pot once he sees a flop for 5 bets with 4-7s. Suck it up and be happy that he'll be throwing money into the pot with crap like that all night long. Lee | ||
