| is that even possible? I know one can get a sense of a hand by how it's bet, but in low limit games, there's no logic at all to how people bet. So is there a plan B? | ||

| Plan B in low limit games is knowing who the solid players are. You can put the solid players on hands by there betting (sometimes, if they aren't tricky players). The rest of the players you just need to play solid hands against. You don't need to be tricky in Low Limits. Good solid play will get the money over the long haul. | ||

| Yes, I hear you there. I guess my question is when I do play my good solid hands, how do I know if my AA or KK is cracked? | ||

| Simply avoid playing for limits so low that the bets are meaningless. For example, the "play tables" Omaha often have eight or more players capping the pot pre-flop, despite the fact that the winner is almost always decided on the river. It is almost as bad when you play real money games for very small stakes--like 25 cents and 50 cents. The money is almost meaningless, so people will play virtually any twocards. Now, if you move up to $10 and $20, you will notice they pay a lot more attention to what hands they play. You should have much better chances of "putting your opponents on a hand" at the higher limits. | ||

By the way, you'll know when your AA and KK get cracked----you'll lose the pot. lol | ||

| I would disagree with your comment that there is no logic to how people bet in lower limits. I've been playing .50-1.00 and I find that players bet what they've got. It's rare that a 'play' is being put on. If a 3 comes on the turn and the EP player bets out after having been check/calling he's got two pair or trip 3's. If someone new takes over the betting when the third card of a suit comes out, they've hit their flush. Obviously, this isn't always the case, but I'd say it's accurate 7 or 8 times out of 10. Players bet out if they've got a hand, check/call everything else (second pair, draws, etc.) I've found that the key to winning these games consistently (something I've finally started to accomplish) is to get away from your solid hands when the red flags go up. Lower limit games take a lot of discipline and an uncanny ability to not get frustrated when you have to fold your pocket Kings because an Ace shows up on the turn. beigs on 2. | Sure there is logic to the way they bet. They might not be doing things correctly, but everything is according to some mad method. You can still stereotype players and use that to your advantage. Online rocks are still rocks and calling stations are still calling stations. You have to look at the way each players plays and then watch the way that they are betting a given hand. | ||
