How would you have played this?, Eihli, 31. Aug 2003 12:37

I'm one off the button and get dealth KdKh. 4 callers to me, I raise, blinds call, everyone calls.

Flop: 7s Qc Tc

Checked around, I bet, all but 1 call.

Turn: Jc

Check. Check. Bet. Raise. I fold.

River: Ks

Bet. Call. Call. Ace high straight wins pot.

Assuming you just sat down at a table and didn't know anyone, how would you have played this?

It was a .25/.50 on UB.

good fold, as most people will stay with a A hoping for the miracle card on the river and the board has 4 to a straight you have to figure someone has it.

I'd have played it exactly the way you did. You folded when you thought you were beaten. So what if someone wasn't actually flushing? Even if your hand is good, there are tons of redraws against you. Most times when there are that many players in the pot and a flush draw on the flop, you have to figure someone is going for it.

Eihli,

I don't think you could have played it any better than you did.

Eihli I like your play in this hand. You got a very dangerous flop for your hand against multiple opponents but betting the flop was necessary. The jack of clubs was the death card for you and when it was bet and raised to you and you don't hold the king of clubs it is right to pass in this situation without too much consideration. Good luck!!! GRANT PITTMAN

I'm new to this site, and fairly new to Poker, and what i have to say has allready been said. But i'd like to post this anyhow as a show of support I myself would appreciate.

I tried to decide what to do before reading what you did. And i must say that I agree with your play. Also, I find it reassuring to myself, since i have no big games or tourney i can contest and test my skill in here. I have to settle for homegames.

So, I agree with the rest, you played it just fine. Although i feel the pain you must have felt when you saw the winning hand!
