| Problem - Betting Structure ===================== I am a novice player in poker. I have read rules about playing poker from certain online sites. As for my knowledge about poker a player should be asked for bet only once per betting round. PROBLEM - 1 I am putting down here log of two different poker games where I was playing. I observe that during the same betting round i was asked to bet again (marked below by #)!! In Game 1, where two players are playing, from lines 14 to 16 we can see that there has been three bets (a bet,a raise, a call) given by two players where i expect should be only two bets (one from each). Why it askes for one more bet from dm11 at line 16? What is the rule for asking bets again within same betting round? In Game 2, also you can see that from lines 14 to 22 there has been more than two bets again. How is it possible? At what criteria dealer can ask players to bet again in the same betting round? PROBLEM - 2 In Game 2 at line 20, where betting is capped, how dm11 could call after that? PROBLEM - 3 How same problem would be effected if one of the players got to go for All-In option or Folds hand? Example Case: ( 1 on 1 game played at paradisepoker.com ) Game 1: ======= 1»Dealer: Starting a new hand... 2»Dealer: dzea posts the small blind 3»Dealer: dm11 posts the big blind 4»Dealer: ** DEALING POCKETS ** 5»Dealer: dzea calls 6»Dealer: dm11 checks 7»Dealer: ** DEALING FLOP ** 8»Dealer: dm11 checks 9»Dealer: dzea checks 10»Dealer: ** DEALING TURN ** 11»Dealer: dm11 checks 12»Dealer: dzea checks 13»Dealer: ** DEALING RIVER ** 14»Dealer: dm11 bets 15»Dealer: dzea raises 16»Dealer: dm11 calls # 17»Dealer: dzea shows three of a kind, nines Game 2: ( 1 on 1 game played at Paradisepoker.com ) ======= 1»Dealer: Starting a new hand... 2»Dealer: dzea posts the small blind 3»Dealer: dm11 posts the big blind 4»Dealer: ** DEALING POCKETS ** 5»Dealer: dzea calls 6»Dealer: dm11 checks 7»Dealer: ** DEALING FLOP ** 8»Dealer: dm11 checks 9»Dealer: dzea checks 10»Dealer: ** DEALING TURN ** 11»Dealer: dm11 checks 12»Dealer: dzea checks 13»Dealer: ** DEALING RIVER ** 14»Dealer: dm11 bets 15»Dealer: dzea raises 16»Dealer: dm11 raises # 17»Dealer: dzea raises # 18»Dealer: dm11 raises # 19»Dealer: dzea raises # 20»Dealer: Betting is capped 21»Dealer: dm11 calls # 22»Dealer: dzea shows a straight, ace to five Important ! Want to know is this because of game played between two players i.e ( 1 on 1) or do that happens in normal multiplayer ( 10 player games also ) | ||

| In line 16 of your first post. All this action occured during the river. The river is the last community card placed up. In this phase DM11 Bets. This bet would be in a 3/6 limit game 6 dollars for example. In the next line Dxea raises DM11 (this would mean Dxea placed 12 dollars on the table.) In line 16 DM11 calls (this means DM11 match Dxea bet of 12 by placing an additional 6 dollars on the table.) Now with your other lines that you indicated with #. They were simply raising each other until the raising was capped during the river phase. Capped means that no one can make any more bets. Hope this helps | ||
