| I have been playing at UB for several months now and I have seen a lot of quads - sometimes several within a game's time (my powerhouse FH has lost to quads a few too many times and OW it hurts when that happens.... ;-) ) - and I seem to be dealt identical openers more times than it would seem possible - for instance 2 hands in a row last night I was dealt Q9 suited (neither of which ended up being playable, darn it). Is this normal for internet poker? Thanks--Maud | ||

| I think you are recognizing a pattern that doesn't really exist simply because it stands out. I have been dealt consecutive identical hands playing live also; it's just an odd occurrence. Recently, playing live, I witnessed consecutive identical flops. I also had consecutive hands of AA, KK, and AA (no, I am not complaining). . .then was dealt KK three hands later. The reason it may be more apparent online is that you play many more hands per hour, so the incidence is going to be more frequent. | ||

Somehow I don't find it all that suprising the when you find the former you often find the latter. The latter always loses to the former, go figgure. Paul Stine College Station, TX | ||

| Sure, it's normal. Pretty much anything you can imagine happening is normal. The thing with human brains is that when something crazy happens once or twice they assume that something is wrong. There are so many hands dealt online that every day, somebody is going to get dealt AA ten times in one hour and lost 9 of them. He might go screaming and shouting about the "rigged" online poker, but this sort of thing floats around and has to stick to somebody. Let me put it another way. In my country there are about 500 murders a year. Each of these sticks to someone, even though the numbers are very low. When your friend is murdered (one of mine once was) you might think that the chances of it happening to you are higher than they actually are. So if you walk out of your apartment one day and somebody shoots you, don't say, "Man. This always happens to my family - there must be a hit squad out to get us" ... ... ... unless you are italian in which case there might be :) | ||
