| #########CheckBet Question ######## -------------------------- Game Type - Texas Holdem I asked the same question about Check bet a number of times but nobody could answer it the way i expect. I am getting the answers about this problem whcih are vague? I hope this time someone of u could help me to overcome this problem.... My question are: a. What are other possibilities when a player can use or can not use Check-Bet option? b. Is it true that during first bet round nobody can use CheckBet Option except Player who has given low blind or high blind? If not so then what is right way? | ||

| There is no such thing as a check bet. Now a check rasie is an art. The key to accomplishing a sucsesful check raise is to surprise everyone with it. Players are always waiting to be check rasied some players check rasie to often some not at all, but they are all still waiting for it to happen, so they can re-rasie. Which is what most players don't want to happen. So you have to surprise your opponents and make them think twice about your bet. A check rasie is not meant to get moremoney in the pot, it's meant to scare people. make them take another look at your hand. Another thing I like about the check raise, is it changes up the way you have been playing. I really like to use the check raise early in the game so this way players will always be thinging about what I will be doing when it comes around to me. | ||

| I remember your earlier post and I think that you are confused about the options available. When playing limit on most systems the buttons that you can click for action ahead of time are check/fold if no action check if action fold check/call if no action check if action call call raise it There is no button for check raise. You have to do that yourself I think Skeeter explained it well in his post. Read Theory of Poker and Hold em poker by Sklansky for a detailed explanation of the check-raise the short story 1. Think you have the best hand 2. Are pretty sure if you check someone will bet so that you can raise. | ||
