I have been playing freeplay online tourneys on the pokerpages software for about 2 months now. The average tourney is between 250-350 people. When I play well I can usually make it into the top 10% and I have made it to 4 final tables. I have been playing NLHE, 7stud and TOC style.

I have no experience with live multi-table tourneys but would eventually like to get involved.

I was wondering if anyone here thinks it is helpful or detrimental to play in these online freeplay tourneys.

Since I started playing them I personally feel that I have improved, but that is only in the realm of freeplay online.

Thanks
SC

Yes , even free tournaments are good practice espechially after the first couple of rounds where the 'free' play maniacs lose their chips.

However you cant look at your result as being the same as a real money tourney because the same reason of more dead money in the game.

I thaught my gf to play, and had her play point tournies and freerolls online, she is now a winning low limit player.
