I have been pretty successful in online nl tournies but I have been having trouble at my B&M weekly NL tourney. basically I play real tight and wait , this type of stategy seems to work great online. At the B&M the blinds go up every ten minutes and it usually kills me unless I catch some great cards. MY question is should I loosen up a bit or just keep waiting until I get a wave of cards and take my lumps untill then. Any advice would be appreciated. A second thought is that out of the last 20 all in hands that I was a pretty decent sized favorite, its seems I am about 4 for 20 is that a normal win rate, I mean it is getting rediculous. thanks for your advice in advance

In my experience in tournaments where the blinds go up fast, it's bad news to get too far into the short stack. You need to steal a few and/or bluff a few when the situation is favorable

Online and B&M are two different monsters. However, in any tourney where the blinds increase rapidly, it is important to pick your battles wisely. The first round, try to play tight and get a read on some of the players, try to only be involved in small pots. While you may not double up in the first round, you will also not be eliminated. I would much rather have half my starting chips with three people remaining than none with 8 remaining. Remember your chips increase in value as more people are eliminated. When you are lucky enough to hold the nuts, or if you pickup a read on a player in a heads up situation, take advantage. Always remember that a tough laydown can be even more valuable than a great call. Especially in tournaments.
