| Alright, I'm either onto something that will make you jump out of your chair in agreement or make you (and I) think that I've lost my mind. When driving home after a poker session, do you ever find yourself thinking in poker terms while driving, like "I'm putting the blue Toyota on a lane change," or trying to block someone from merging as if you're raising them off a draw, or just generally driving and seeing other drivers "strategically?" Like I said, I'm either nuts or onto something. Either way I'm sure I've been playing too much poker. Eli | ||

| *sigh* Fortunately I've got my wife trained...she no longer gets annoyed after the drive home when I jump in bed and announce I'm "going all in". Or that we'll be playing "heads up". Or...never mind. | ||

| Holy crap!!!!! I can't believe you actually have those feelings. When I first ventured into playing poker in the casinos (which was about 12 years ago) I used to drive down to AC which at that time was an hour and a half ride. I would play all day as I knew I wasn't going to return until the following week, and when I started my drive on the way home I would look at the exit signs on the G.S Parkway and if it said exit 88, I would immediately refer to that as a pair of eights! I would do it all the way home and it drove me nuts after awhile, but I kept doing it!!! OMG........I thought it was just me! But I do think that came from playing for waaaaaay too many hours at one time! Poker on the brain, I suppose, or a lack of sleep perhaps!!! Those long marathons are long behind me now........thank God. 4P- | ||

| lol Actually, about three computers ago I wrote an essay on the similarities between a poker game and the drive to Atlantic City (I lived in Maryland at the time). I can't locate it. There are endless analogies that can be drawn from poker and I have always enjoyed the driving one the best. For instance, on the highway (going a fair distance, A.C. in my case), you want to get there as fast as you can, but just like the poker table if you get too far out of line, you will get caught speeding. When you are unsure of your hand (or the area you are driving in) you can draft (call behind), or let someone else take the lead (with the car or the hand). The list goes on and on and on...so if it makes you feel better your not alone. - Nathaniel Brous | ||

| What's the best 5-card poker hand you've ever made out of a regular (non-personalized) license plate? | ||

| Gee, thanks, now we all have something else to distract us while driving. I'd avoid a 6-block area around Hollywood Park like the plague (not that that isn't normally a good idea anyway) :) on 26. (of course not in that exact order)........:) My friend and I, ( both fond of hi-lo games) used to say, "hey, look at that license plate, he's got a 6 high straight AND a wheel"! He STILL does it to this day........"drives me nuts"! (LOL). 4P- | ||

| Hi EC I tend to think in poker terms and my logic flow in life is based on that....truth be told I think that is a good thing and makes for better life management decisions! | I do this, and it goes to other parts of life too, particularly with some alcohol in me. A lot of times when I think someone is BS'ing me, I'll proudly declare "I'm all in!" and they just kind of look at me funny. I've been known to say "fold" if I think I've lost an argument too. I think the best driving one I've seen is "driving on tilt" from a post in here about a month ago. That one really cracked me up! Lee | ||

| I see poker strategy start to bleed into my real life. The other day I was talking to my boss and he informed the owner was wanting to add another employee to my sales territory which really means I would be replaced. I had been playing late the night before and my first thought was to go all in (demand a huge raise) before they made their draw hand (found a better salesman). I decided to call and see what turns up on the river. | ||

| Funny, I did something very similar tonight. I was watching Sportcenter and they were playing a clip from a baseball game (Boston/Toronto, I think) and the score was 7-2 and I instantly thought "fold." LOL! -Moz "I'm a well-wisher, in that I don't wish you any specific harm." | ||

| heheheh... That guy tailgating me is on tilt. If I slam on the brakes I can trap him and take down a big pot. This guy is weak tight - I'll come up close behind him and he'll move over and let me pass. This drunk driver is loose agressive. That cop in the unmarked car is angle shooting. I need to change gears (groan!) so I'll drive backwards in the other lane wth my high beams on just long enough for everybody to call me a maniac, then move back over and start going 10 kmph. | ||

| the other day I was watching a tv show and someone started to give one of those fake tv phone numbers, and I instantly thought "wow, trip 5's on the flop!!" ... it's gotta be the same phenomenon as when back in college I had stayed up too late playing tetris and I couldn't fall asleep because I had little pieces falling in my head I needed to arrange | ||
